Veronica Devine has been an entrepreneur since 1973 when she founded her own cosmetic company, Justine. She remained at the helm of the company for 28 years before becoming President of Justine Avon in 1996, when Avon Inc. New York acquired this company. Veronica has been continuously recognised for her work in community development, and due to her leadership ability, she is regarded as a pioneer in transformation and change management.

Veronica was awarded the Businesswoman of the Year title in 1994, received the Technology for Women in Business Award by the Department of Trade and Industry in 1998, and in 2001 she was again honoured by being included in the HALL OF FAME of the Direct Selling Industry worldwide.

Veronica is passionate about the development of people and has spent a great deal of time on mentoring and coaching women. She sits on numerous company boards and is a founding partner of The Resilience Company in 2002. Veroncia is currently the CEO of Virgin Cosmetics South Africa. Veronica is married, loves gardening, traveling and is a sports enthusiast. Her musical career still forms an integral part of her life.

Wendy Luhabe has been a social entrepreneur since 1991 when she was overlooked for a promotion at BMW, South Africa.  She is now a director of the BMW Management Board.  Wendy is considered to be one of South Africa’s prominent, visionary and pioneering women entrepreneurs.

Her formative years were in marketing for ten years and her first business was in Human Capital and Talent Management.  She published “Defining Moments” about five years ago on the experiences of Black professionals in South Africa’s workplace over the last 30 years.

Of all the initiatives that Wendy has been involved in, the establishment of Wiphold, currently worth about R2 billion, to revolutionise the participation of women in the economy, remains by far the most inspiring contribution to South Africa’s young democracy.

She is the Chancellor of the University of Johannesburg and holds two Honorary Doctorates in Commerce from Fort hare and Stellenbosch Universities.

Wendy has been a non executive director in various industries over the last 15 years.  She was Chairman of Vodacom for six years and is currently the Chairman of the Industrial Development Corporation, the International Marketing Council and Vendon SA.

Wendy believes that Resilience is the capacity that will make companies competitive in the 21st century.  To achieve this, The Resilience Company offers an innovative selection of SuccessFactors systems and solutions, which can transform the way organisations manage talent, performance and their succession plans.

Johan is a Business Consultant that specialises in performance and remuneration management.  He spent 20 years in the corporate environment within parastatal organisations, private and public companies in the logistics, transport and research sectors, mainly in the financial and business management fields.  His last position before venturing into consulting was Financial Director at a listed company.  Johan is a registered professional at various accounting and personnel institutions.  Johan serves on the Board of the Institute for People Management (IPM) for the 2008/2009 term.

Johan has been involved in performance and talent management within the Local Government.  At Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (ranging from development of performance frameworks, individual performance agreements, implementation of computerized performance management system and the calculation of salary increases and bonuses for all section 57 and other fixed term contracted staff) for the last four years and two years at Emfuleni Local Municipality (Vanderbijlpark).  Johan also project managed the installation of performance management and development systems at a number of The Resilience Company’s clients.

Johan has interest in community and social work and serves on the Board of Directors of PEN (Participate, Educate & Navigate).  He previously served on the Boards of the SA Express Parcel Association and Jericho Walls International Prayer Network.  He is also responsible for the Community Social Investment programme of the company.  He is married to Fia and they have two children aged 18 and 15 respectively.

Raymond Raats is a Human Resources Professional with more than 25 years experience in Human Resources Management. He has developed Performance Management Policies, Frameworks, Systems and Training Interventions for private sector and governmental institutions. He is an astute facilitator of Performance Management interventions.

Raymond was the specialist manager for the installation of performance management at the Department of Mineral and Energy.

Raymond has interests in citrus farming and enjoys restoring vintage cars. He is married to Marlene and they have two children aged 23 and 19 respectively.
